Cosmological constraints from Chandra studies of the largest, dynamically relaxed galaxy clusters.
Abstract
I will present the latest results on cosmological parameters from our Chandra project to study the most X-ray luminous, dynamically relaxed galaxy clusters in the Universe. The Chandra data provide a precise constraint on the mean matter density of the Universe and a clear and direct measurement of the effects of dark energy on the apparent redshift evolution of these sources. The Chandra constraints on the dark energy density and dark energy equation of state parameter are of comparable accuracy to, and consistent with, those obtained from type 1a supernovae studies.
